Loveoftiki, like 'Mo stated Don Beoke is "the Egyptian". He called that car SHBOOM.
Rear from Rikster's site:
The 57 in rustymetals post couldn't be any nicer. Not ugly by anyones standards.
Love '57 Fords. I tend to prefer them over a '57 Chevy. Wish I could find one I could afford!
I was offered one cheap a couple of months back, and it was a post car. I have owned a couple of hard tops but never a post car. It is in the class ads now for about a grand or less, there is another one, one with history an FE car up north for sale too really reasonable, I want to say it is in Wisc but I could be mistaken. It is still wearing candy red paint, the real deal not this crap that they sell now.
@straykatkustoms I know that Ford, where have I seen it? is it a mid west car or a coast car?
Sorry I don't know, I stole the picture from Satan's Angels post on FB...
"beaner, here is a feature I got from Rikster's site.
I think 57s are one of the most beautiful fords ever built heres mine from the early 90s nosed decked shaved with head lights smoothed with 48 ford rings
Got my Dad to buy one in 61 owned by the Ford mech at the dealer. It was great, 312/4bbl FX tranny. I was 16 and it flew. Held my own for against a unsuspecting 63 409 Chebby once for 1 1/2 blocks before the BB pulled away.
Anyway recently did a model of her.
Love those 57 Fords. They are beautiful, but it sure wasn't hard to make them look like a pig wearing ear rings. What with Edsel tail lights and all. Their simplicity was beauty.
Question. Curious. Some have stated they look bad because they were made to have quad headlights but came out with singles. Well looking at the front of that car, how in the hell could you put quad lights on that? Where in the hell is the spot that the extra light would be put? I suppose you could put a 58 front clip on it and get quads.
I was told that the 57 chev was supposed to be the 58 model but frame problems and, I suppose, the quad headlights held it up for a year. In a flurry of activity the 56 was dolled up in 6 months and you had a 57.

Gotta agree there...at least 90% of the custom mods I see on '57's are total failures imho. Very difficult body to modify and improve.
BTW Baldie, not to get picky, but I think you meant to say 58 Chevy was suppose to be the 57 model year...only thing that makes sense with the "dual headlights holding it up for a year"
'56F100 lights fix 'em. Or maybe '58 headlights/ or clip on a '57. I wonder, never seen it, maybe not feasible?..
rmautobuzzed! Sober up ,your talking foolish
Ron Myers owned this low & scallop'd up '57 Ford
I've never heard of this website, but maybe that's the point; nobody else has either, so they bark like Hillary to get attention hoping to increase click-through and draw traffic. They got attention, but the wrong kind.
Here's one I worked on 10-12 years ago. Stock appearing, modern drivetrain and full power. A long distance cruiser.
Not convinced that the 1948 Davis is one of the ten ugliest cars either...
IF THE 57 FORD IS SO UGLY, WHY DID IT OUT SELL CHEVY THAT YEAR.. THE 57 FORD MAKES WAY BETTER CUSTOMS THAN THE 57 CHEVY DOSE. I HAVE A 57 T-BIRD. IT'S LOWERED A BIT. HAS ANSEN SPRINTS WITH RADIAL TIRES..WHEN I PAINT IT I'LL REMOVE A FEW EMBLEMS, BUT NO OTHER CHANGES ARE PLANED.... IT'S JUST TOO COOL THE WAY IT IS.....MLMLML....PS AND HOW ABOUT THE 57 RANCHERO ??...ML
With all this talk about the Ranchero, I had to bring over the Tiago PU, before it got really wild (but still fun!).
To me, the '57 Ford is one of the nicest looking cars of the late '50s. Even the wagons and sedan deliveries looked nice. Here's a photoshop of ratnastys former car that I did a few years ago.
Thanks....and that car is bitchin
1957 fords are pure 50's cars, they are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! ive had 3 '57 rancheros and I shoulda kept at least one !!!!!!! dammit
Sadly, in this part of the world, almost all 57 Fords/Meteors have rusted so bad the headlights have fallen out of them and you can see through the 1/4 panels, but a nice 57 Ford or Meteor --- wouldn't even have to change my HAMB name....
312 of these were built, not many left but definitely cool!
Working on mine now.....I love them....Every model, every combo...
'57 FORDS OUTSOLD '57 CHEVYS THAT YEAR BY 20,000 UNITS
^Yes they did! ^
Like I said in an earlier post, several of the manufacturers (Ford and Chrysler among them) had planned to use quad headlights in their 1957 offerings. Not all 48 states came on board in time, so the companies had to fall back on using regular dual headlights. Styling done to conform to laws is seldom successful. Don't believe me? Take a look at the front ends on all '57 Chrysler Corporations offerings.
Nice car, but I wonder why they didn't go the extra step and get the correct 57 hubcaps?
Dunno...The 56 caps throw it off.... but I love the overall look.
