That's a nice trunk key, except when I had one like that, Bill Law wanted to see my documents.

  8. y'know... you could have just picked the lock... like I did... its a 5 pin lock, turns counter clockwise, apply pressure, and start messing with the pins, locks like that are dead easy to pick. shame too... that was a good savable trunk...

    nevermind... apparently you fixed it!

There was a big rust hole there anyway from where the ugly latch for the horrible continental kit was attached.

We also got the top working. I freed up the pump that was gummed up with rust and varnished old fluid. I had to replace the cylinders and hoses.

I restored the original rusty valve covers and put some decals on.
I’d like to add a video but I don’t know how.

Also she runs, but the transmission isn’t working. Im hoping it’ll free up when it gets warm.

And a short video of it running. I have a fuel delivery issue, I cleaned the tank out very well and put in a new fuel pump. I blew out the line to the pump, but I’m not getting any suction. I put a hose from the pump into a gas can on the ground and it worked. Also there is vacuum for the wipers.
there might be a pinhole of a crack in the steel fuel line, I’ll have to investigate further.

I had a similar problem with my ‘55 Merc when I got it running. It was a bit neglected and was not started in many years. Even after cleaning the fuel tank and blowing out the lines, a very fine silt was getting into the fuel pump, fouling the rubber valves. This prevented the pump from building any pressure. To get around this, I just added a pre-filter to the input side of the pump. Hope this helps! :)

We just pulled the transmission, oh my god, it’s the worst sludgy mess I’ve ever seen. The rear drum is pitted, I sing think it’s any good. We cleaned up the case and all the parts now and got a rebuild kit from Fatsco. Does anyone have that drum for sale. It’s a small case Fordomatic.

Amazingly the car moved, kinda, despite the tranny looking like this.

  23. Yeah, definitely one of the worst I’ve seen in my career. truth be told…ole’ Raven was notorious for doing things half ass. Who knows how long it was like that. Maybe that’s why it was parked. ??!

No. Body style, assembly plant, engine size, model year and production number (6 digits).

the vin plate has all the other information.

That is one gross looking pan. Good to see updates though, this is a cool car, well worthy of the work going into it.

  30. That is the worst drum I have ever seen. Could it be turned on a lathe, I'm talking taking .010- .020" off the diameter. Can the band, etc make up the difference?
