I see you left the emblem off the nose. Excellent. Now you need to "gut" one, replace the "Corvette" and flags with a black panel that has a Jolly Rodger using the Vette flags. Might as well chap the resto crowd's ass all the way.
Thanks Jim. Been a busy summer. I had thought about doing that to the Factory Five Ford Cobra I built. Might be a good idea for this one.
Baron, I just went through your whole thread on your VETTE. Very nice car and GREAT build. Another vette comes back to life. GOOD FOR YOU.
I have a 1962 corvette c modified production. I have been talking to a lot of H.A.M.B.E.R.S about changing my car into a gasser like yours. I have made up my mind about doing it. I have all the parts coming for it. some parts are here. You have inspired me even more. Thank you.
Good to hear. I have a number of pictures of 61-2 Corvettes with straight axles for more inspiration if needed.
@Baron , congratulations on getting a picture of your corvette in the Magazine Car Culture Deluxe. It was taken at the Kingpins Car Club Show in New Hampshire.
Thanks Jason. Always a pleasant surprise for all of us to see a picture of our car in a national magazine.
Here is my '57 Corvette which started out as a basket case. Hope I posted this in the right place. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forum...urrent-owner-of-my-red-57-in-connecticut.html
Baron may not mind another great looking 57 in his thread but you could also post it in the Corvette Hot Rod thread. Great story to go along with another extremely nice car brought back.
No problem being here. But, I have searched both threads on the Corvette Forum and I have not found a single picture of it yet on either link. How about posting a picture of it here ?
Baron, I will post it here if you don't mind. I'll have to get my photo's uploaded which will take a while.
You guy are a BAAAAD influence on me. I've got Dads 57 now, it runs and drives fine but could use a new "direction" . The top picture is Dads 57 on the left, the right side is another 57 that him and a buddy were building, but never finished. i have that engine stand now^^^^
That's a great picture Scott. Love your 57 just as it is. Here is a picture of your old valve covers on my 57. Thanks again.
Baron, I love your cars! Can't wait to see the vette in color! The valve covers look way better on the vette than on my shelf.
Lookin good Baron, but then again I have been running Cragars and pie crusts on both my avatar and my black 62 for years-so I guess I am jaded. Have fun with it this year.
Here is the guy directly responsible for me building my 57 Corvette( both this one and the one I did back in 1971). Doug Jounis was the builder and the owner of the Hayseed. First time I saw the car was at New England Dragway back in 1968-9. For me, that was the best looking race car(or any car for that matter) I had ever seen. Great to see Doug at Rhinebeck, NY this past week-end, and he was more than happy to pose with me and my 57. Doug still owns the Hayseed and has for the last 57 years! Doug was smart and saved every part he took off the car when he turned it into a race car, and by the late seventies/early eighties, when you could not give the race car away, totally restored it. It's a real Fuelie, 4 spd, matching number car ,and a few years back, he did went through it one more time and it is absolutely flawless( as it was back when it was a race car). And like he told me Saturday, had he known what the future would have brung, he'd would have kept it just as it was Thanks Doug, for the inspiration and your friendship.
