My Dad and I have a 1957 Chevy truck 6-lug rear end with 3:92 gears(I think) in our '53 Studebaker Gasser, we need more gear for our small block 259ci Studebaker, well we got a ring and pinion from a friend of my Dad's and it's supppose to be for a '50 to early '60's Chevy Truck that's a 4:88 and has the part numbers: Pinion Gear: GM 1-63 3744096 Ring Gear: GM 1-63 3725808 with the Zoom and/or American Industry? on the box... any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Brian and Gordy
Got a few views, no responses, that's how I've felt trying to Google these numbers no luck on a dead end street... here's a pic of the "South Bend ROAD OILER" Thanks again for any thoughts or insight
Only info I can provide is 55-9 gears won't swap into 60-on up rears...different animals. You might check with Patricks in Az..they sell a lower (numerically) gear set for TF trucks, and may have info on where to look.
