I know most of you have probably heard this song, but I just found it and I thought it would fit in here. I guess it was a hit in 1956 by a L.A. truck driver named Jimmy Drake. He had other songs, but this one is pretty funny... about a guy that gets in accidents and needs blood transfusions every time! Enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVewdwuyyw8
Thanks, I needed that. I just came back from having a blood test, talk about irony! I never realized that song was that old.-MIKE
Ive got it on a doctor Demento LP......great song,"get outa my way I dont pass with my horn".................
My little brother's name is Allen, every now and then I tell him "slip a gallon to me, Allen" and he has no idea what I'm talking about.
I love that song...Its also on Hot Rod Artist Robert Williams compilation album Chrome, Smoke & Fire from 1991...A great double album if you can find it http://www.big-stick.org/discography/chrome/
Holy Crap, Cosmo, you just made my day. I haven't heard that song or Nervous Norvus in sooooooooooooooo many years. Thank you...
My foot's on the throttle and it's made of lead But I'm a fast ridding daddy with a real cool head I'ma gonna pass a truck on the hill ahead- [Scrreeech-BANG, tinkle] Transfusion, transfusion My red corpsuckles are in mass confusion Never, never, never gonna speed again Pass the crimson to me, Jimson
I love Novelty records. Here is one they banned but I can't remember why, it's pretty stupid. There used to be alot of these back in the 50's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIK5ZfhZqds&feature=fvw
HA! I've got that set too, and can't listen to it 'cause I don't have a record player any more! Have 'em framed and hanging on the wall in the garage, pretty, but I'd like to be able to play vinyl. That song I had as kid on a '45, it may still be in my folks basement. The flip side was another wierdo song called "The Fang". Brian
For those of you in So Cal, Friday July 10th, The Sound FM100.3 is doing a tribute to KMET "the Mighty Met" and Dr. Demento wil do a one hour show from 7-8:00 pm

OMG - yeah! that old song's been around forever - wait - I remember listening to it as a kid! '56? Damn, I'm gettin' old! there were sure some great car & novelty songs back in those days. One of my favorites is Jan & Dean's "Schlock Rod" about a piss green Buick... And another one I like is "Vacation" by Connie Francis, "....well we'll hop in our jalopy to a drive-in movie, and never look at the show...." Those old songs were - and are - part of the real Happy Days.
with all the craziness going on in the middle east, don't forget old Ahab the Arab. hahahahaha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLB15kBvn_c&feature=related
here's a couple of ray stevens songs that were banned off of the radio where I grew up, compared to whats on now they are nothing, but some people had nothing better to do. I've always heard rumors that the Mississippi Squirrel revival was based on a true story, hmmm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgFjLB4VYSU the second one the streak, ray at his best of all time, best video he ever did. I remember as a kid, there was a big outcry about this song in church, and how terrible it was, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIPv9AtZ2zE&feature=related and it's me again margaret, also banned from the radio when i was a kid, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs4P8WKbF-w
