Not much to report. Hoping to get the spindles back from the machine shop this week so the front axle can be assembled for the first time. Excited about that to see the axle with wheels, tires brakes etc. The owner of the machine shop is leaving friday for Bville and told me they would be done. Hope he keeps his word.

Finally got the spindles back from the machine shop. They had to machine them down to fit the disc brakes. Now I can finally bolt it all together. 10384228_321315541368217_9030097533809164714_n.jpg 10386822_321315484701556_170241589292410527_n.jpg 10609544_321315558034882_3475396417171147638_n.jpg

You can build an awfully serious Y Block with the Mummert stuff.

I can't wait to see this beast make some noise!:)

We just had a front tank donated to the build. Its a vintage piece off an old drag car. We'll have to make a few changes but its darn cool.

I just heard from Towel City Tires and they will be sponsoring us the Pie Crust Cheater Slicks for the Monster. Can't wait to get them in hand and mounted up on our American Rebel Wheels. So happy to have them on board this build.

Super excited to announce MSD Performance as our newest sponsor forThe Canned Monster gasser build. They gave us the whole ignition system, MSD 6AL box, Y-Block Billet distributor, black plug wires and a performance coil. Even threw in a black cap so it looks more period correct. CGKidd, great meeting you as well man. So stoked you got to run Carls flattie dragster. Terry K, not sure on a brand. They came from Speedway and were a garage sale item, so Speedway brand I guess?? They are made for the mid 60's trucks but should be fine for our build. Time will tell I guess. Within the next four weeks or so I should be able to post some significant progress pics of the suspension work. Thanks for the support everyone.

Got the disc brakes put together finally. Used a pair of original '51 chevy to start with and had to machine them to take the discs. After two trips to the machine shop they go them right and the bearings fit. The bigger news is the car is now in Ventura at JG Design & Fabrication. They will be handling the suspension build both front and rear. Looking forward to working with Justin and the gang. Lots of progress pics to come very soon.
