Some progress on the truck over the last couple of weeks. Dash is done. Reshot the red on the doors. Cab is fully primed. Still need to reshoot some of the white on the doors and they'll be done. Getting closer.

Had decent weather today so was able to wrench a few minutes and get the motor ready to pull back out. Then the body pulled off the frame.

Motor is out and headed back to the Y-Block guy soon for some tweaks.

I've been sorting out the steering and making plans for the sheet

Need to get the body pulled off to get the flame cleaned and painted. The weather is getting better which will help speed things up.

Getting closer, doors are on and the windshield is now installed with new rubber and the original stainless.

Progress on the truck today. Worked on wiring in the new turn signal indicator and dash parts. Cleaned up the chrome bezels on the original switches. Started planning the cut into the gauge panel to install the new SW gauges. Also was able to get the seat dropped off at the upholsterer. All in all a good day. Was to cold to paint so hopefully next weekend. Still looking for a wiper switch.

Oh man, I wish. We've had the hottest summer recorded in California history. 30 plus days of triple digits. Should be cooling off soon enough to spray some primer. It's been a very unproductive summer unfortunately. Looking forward to fall and cooler temps.

I hear ya. When doing generator field service work in the bay area I had to go to Merced and Modesto a couple of times in the summer. Holy crapola the Imperial Valley gets hot! Made San Ramon seem air conditioned by comparison.

Drivers side is all but done. I still need to drill the holes for the bolts/body mounts. Now on to the passenger side.

Well. Not sure why it posted two of the same image. Here’s the other one that was supposed to go up. [IMG]

Great progress! Love the old 'Y' blocks, my old '56 Ford made Chevys shudder in 1959...
My son Rich in San Jose is doing his '56 Ford Customline tudor for Eagle Field also. Rich is set up with a 390 FE, 5 speed trans, front axle set forward, but no altered wheelbase in rear...(yet)
He just fitted his radiator, ('68 Mustang 390) and is doing chassis work for axle.
My '54 Ford coupe is coming along slowly. Much work to do on my '55 F100, 2 projects at a time keep us from boredom, eh?

Really Mike. Would love to see what and how he’s doing his. Is there a build thread or is he on any social media? Love these fifty sixes. What great cars. Would love to see more about your 54 too.

Drivers side is done, less the holes for the body mounts and final finishing with seam sealer and paint, but that’s for later. Now on to the Pass side front.
