Projects 1956 Chevy (South East Gasser) "The Vagabond"

Not directly on the car exactly but getting things together so that I can make some progress.Bought a bigger air compressor, setting up 220 outlet, finding more shit to sell etc etc...that and I hate winter. Took some time off but I will be back at it real soon Randy. If I have that weekend off I'll come watch you and Bobby raise some hell.

I have been sick off and on all winter and between that and just hating cold weather I mothballed it for a while. I'm going to get serious on it now though. I have a fella helping me with my fiberglass clip so pretty soon it will have the tilt over in place.

No, I have way too much work to do. I also want to take my time and enjoy the process as well. I think it's going to be worth the wait though. Do you plan on running at Meltdown this year?

Yeah,I'm going to be running the first car I ever owned,an o/t M****ang.
I'm just doing about a half a million small,fine tuning type repairs and mods to it,just to get things working perfectly,chase down a few gremlins,and squeeze the last few ounces of ET out of it.
Next year is a different story though.....gonna be running with some pretty serious cars next year!

Yeah,one's the Hemi Coupe,the other is a really accurate replica of a 65 A/FX car that I have been researching for years,and slowly collecting parts for.Its gonna be a savage.

I love A/FX cars! I had a 64 Comet that I had planned on doing that with but ended up selling it to help fund this project. Killer stuff you have there. Look forward to seeing them.

 

I hope to be mocking up and fabbing on the coupe soon,and the A/FX car will likely be waiting patiently til next year before I can get started.

So you already have the 'glass front end for your car?
Man I can't wait to see it go together.The fabrication work you did on that engine setback was just effin killer!

Yes, I have had it for a while. I think you can see it in one of the pictures I just posted. Couldn't even put it on the car it was so screwed up. From what I hear most of these glass clips need work to fit.

The one that came with my Dad's 41 Willys body was so screwed up that it needed to be sectioned,pie cut,and nearly reinvented to match any dimensions or body lines on the car.
It was a fucking travesty.
