He didn't make the Meltdown this year,as he has been quite busy with work and Family, much like myself.
I'm pretty confident he will make it with the car next year, though, and it is going to be really impressive.
He's definitely got some serious tricks up his sleeve with this thing.
Big wheelies will be the norm with this beast.:)

My build thread got erased for one word that
starts with T and ends with ump. Instead of telling
me to remove the short sentence with the T word
in it, the PC police dumped my day's work. I guess I
know how this guy felt... with 30 PAGES.

Thanks Willy B and you're right we have our hands full.

Hello all, I decided to drop the cipher I was using earlier because it was more annoying than fun. Sadly we just started back on the car after a very long 2 year layoff. I would have never dreamed that it would all take this long, but many obstacles have slowed my progress. Lost both parents in 2015, lost my job in 16, had to spend enough money to buy 4 race ready Tri-5's on things going kaplooey on our house, gained another child along the way. Life has never been better for me though than it is right now. Got the best job I ever had, buying a new house, wonderful family and FINALLY BACK ON THE RACE CAR! Life is good..

Oh and about that car...Some things have changed. No longer going to run with the Southeast Gassers. I love to watch them, but I guess I just rather do things my own way. Going back to power glide behind a BBC. planing on dumping the 56 clip and replacing it with a 55 as well as filling in the swoop in the rear wheel and radiusing it like a 55. Basically building a 55 with 56 tail lights...best of both worlds. I also now have James Beaver working with me (builder of Lil' Red) so things will move quicker and you'll also notice a dramatic increase in class of workmanship from here on. I have gleefully accepted the role of shop stooge.

It's such a relief to finally get back on the car. Been a real thorn in my ass just sitting on my hands waiting for the chance to work on it. One thing about it though is that I have had plenty of time to think about what I wanted to do. I'm already reconsidering the 55 clip though. That was something that just popped in my head this week. 56 clip with 55 style radiused wheels sounds like the way to go now.

Currently accepting any match race offers from anybody silly enough accept. Spread the word..we're coming!

Thanks buddy! Pop was Pop right up until Leukemia took him out. Cracking jokes and giving people shit to the end. If he was afraid I couldn't tell it.
Once this Chevy breathes life it's going to be lettered with his old radiator shop I used to ride my big wheel in and take naps on a creeper with a bundle of shop towels.
Really a pleasure hearing from you and first chance I get I'll start stalking your truck!

I don't know where you will be racing but I will take a shot if we cross paths.
We can see if that new fangled BB can out run an old 409 base engine.

  29. Good looking frame you have there. The rear axle looks to be an 8" although I could be wrong. What engine does he plan to run?

Frame is actually the original 56 chassis. It's has a 9" Ford with Mark Williams internals, 35 spline axles and spool. All I can say about the engine is that it's an original GM cast iron block.
