History 1956 chevy gasser Aggravation Too info

    Any body got any info or photos of Ron Thompson (aggravation too)1956 chevy D/modified gasser that ran at St loius Mo and southern Il tracks in the mid 1960s 67-68 have some 1/8 mile records photo copies Would like to find some more info on this car I Got this car last weekend Would like to find a little more history It was a sbc 327 back in the day 4 speed car

    Well its driveable Runs out great, Will put ins / plates on it this spring Start to clean it up, maybe black primer, Put some int. in it, Just 2 seats and cage now and cool metal flake green orginal dash Doors are gutted / have two other doors but will have to find guts for them and have more green plexi for them its a small block / 4 speed / t ram / magneto 650s etc Runs like a jack rabbit Took Cam with me he want me to run it at byron, but it will be a street car for now

    I wouldn't do anything but de-tune it for the street, only if I had to. then enjoy it just the way it is.

    It's got "the look".

    It runs too good to de tune The 488 spool olds rear makes it a trip to drive, can t wait till spring!!!!!!!!

    both records at St loius strip 1967 1/8 mile class D/MMP 8.08 81.96 mph and 1968 class F2 D/MP 8.44 88.37 mph

    Yes the white stuff is snow about 8 inchs plus ice about 1 inch

    i had a 56 real close to that one i raced at us 30 in n.w. indiana, in71,72, sure looks alot like it. i raced it ahra also. i would like to see some close ups under the hood if you can when you get a chance of the firewall. havent seen it since the mid to late 70s. mine was a sbc 327 4 speed car.

    At this time only photo I have of engine / firewall Got it put away till spring it in back of my shop and can t get to it till the spring thaw

    Ed Martin Did you drive a 56 chevy with a 392 hemi, at U. S.- 30 in the 60s? The one I remember was called Contradiction. The car was built in a garage in Sauk Village, along U. S.- 41 Don in N. W. In.

    Don No I did not I did see pics of that car some where here on the HAMB Most of my time was spent at Union Grove With my buddy and his brothers Deuces Wild Nova Late 60s Did get to US 30 twice What a track!
