once again shaved top mounting tab and hole

    the patch .

cant get away with a straight piece you have to shrink it a little to get the curve

and all welded up / didnt finish it off yet due to having to work on the area below!

Great work and a great insight into just how much work can be required, even on the little details.

Beautiful metal finishing...some of the best I've seen in a long time! Most guys never get the hang if it. They just finish it to 80 grit and skim it with filler.

Your a great welder but you might be the best grinder I've ever seen!

    Thanks for posting...fun to watch.

  15. Flop, This is very kool to watch it come together. Great metal work man.

...or any one of 5 other colors...I seem to change my mind daily! I'm pretty settled on lacquer though. Paint it the way they would have back in the 1930's/40's and then let it age naturally over time, is what I say.

Can't believe we're at the stage of talking paint colors though, Tom. It's amazing what you've been able to do with that pile of parts you picked up from me not all that long ago.

Not only is the "Feb 1956" staying right where it is -- we're going to add "Dec 2012" to the same location on the driver's side.

A little something for the future restorers / hotrodders to uncover.

  25. Now, this is the type of thread that keeps me liking the HAMB. Very nice work.
