So I've been on a push to get my Buick finished for my best friends wedding, however unexpected complications with the motor have set me back and I've decided to not rush it. 1952 Buick "Pearl" a factory custom. My first chop http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...earl"-a-factory-custom.-My-first-chop.967980/ Which brings me to the cool part about that. Bullshitting with my buddy bob and telling him how I don't know if I'll make it in time etc and he tells me well why don't u just come pick up the glass top!!! He bought it in 1971 for 25$ before going to the wrecker and then gave it to His late brother who built it in the late 80's it drives like a dream and is so much fun cruising with the glass top! It's running a 351w and as u can tell has many kustom touches. The paint is a little old and weather but still in pretty solid shape!! tuck and roll in the wheel wells . Here is a pic of me and bob a few years ago when I first met him. I bought my dream car from him 55 eldorado
Well, I used to own a 55 Glasstop and I can say that "cool" it wasn't. It was hotter than hades in that thing in the summer. I should not have sold it (nearly gave it away) because it was a beauty. I love those glasstop Vickys and that one you show has just the right amount of customizing on it even though tassels and the flames aren't my cup of tea. Nice one.
Not my cup of tea either but it's all he has left of his brother so he's trying to preserve the car as he had it..
Sweet ride man. Dingle berries and all. Wild how choices of paint, and treatments there of .... make or break a cool cruiser. Thats it.
Ray "the spray" Zellman's car. Bob's brother. Lived around the corner from me. Sure do miss him and his stories. Gene.
You know Ray and bob? Great dudes i talk to bob 5-6 hours a week!! Awesome guys bob is the nicest guy I know!
Ray was kinda known for that style of flames around this area. Don't know for sure, but he might have even thought them up himself.
Bob told me he was one of the first to do that style flame and that he was notorious for turning a pinstripe into a flame.
As I recall Ford, called that model a "Sunliner", and were available from 1954 thru '56. Similar Mercury models were call "Sun Valley". Both Ford and mercury production numbers were small. ............................... Jack
True story, a complete stranger gave me a '55 glass-top crown years ago. Legit car, 64B VIN tag, clean title, power window and power seat car, deluxe radio... Said if I could get it off of his property it was mine. Awesome car. If it's a legit glass-top, I'm pretty sure 55 was the lowest production year. 1999 I think
Awesome!! They are fun cars! Such a cool feeling driving it when the weather is nice! If it's hot out tho forget it!
