I remember readin this thread like two months ago, Im glad i found it again...you id that car justice Nitro. I had a 56 Customline before I got my 54 Chev. Sadly, It may possibly have been in owrse shape than yours. Hence I got rid of it. Great work man.

Here's a picture of mine. I had some cool ideas for it, but, now I just want to finish my other projects. I have too many cars as it is.

I love this! That would actually look pretty cool on my wagon, if there were enough space.

I've gotta give you credit for sticking it out, lots of folks give up after they start cutting out all the rot.... Good job and enjoy it, your car looks amazing.

I'm so GLAD you went with gloss black instead of white. That's killer.

  10. Those rear mounted antennae are really cool! I got one like it for my '56 Fairlane project from a guy that decided not to use it, for around $45-$50. They're available from several Ford restoration sites, Mac's included but a bit more pricey. The Ford # is B5A-18813-B and I've only seen them with the red reflector. Ford also used twin swept-back deck mounted antennae in the mid 60s on the Galaxies but likely would fit nearly any other car. If memory serves, they were more swept back than the '55s-'56's, and didn't have the reflector on 'em.

  11. Thanks!:D

  12. I try not to be...:D

  13. I wish i new???

I can only trace the car back to about 11 years ago.

  14. Thanks!

I got those antenna's from Dennis Carpenter... and payed way to much.
    But they look Great.
Ive got an extra (a third) if you want it... The red was a different color and didnt match the top. But its NEW.
    They only came in red...
    Greens would look great!

  15. Can we get a full shot of your car?
    Looks good!

  16. Thanks Man, I cant wait to tie up the loose ends. So close.
Im just about ready to take her out.:D

  17. Man, The only place that i know of was Dennis Carpenter...
I found the 3rd one up in Paradise Ca. The same guy who i got the rear quarter from...

  18. Michelle,

I bet they would work on the top of the rear quarters near the back side glass...NOT the very back though.

YOU gotta find a way to get them on that car!:D
    They would look great!

  19. Me too! I am super stoked with it!

I wish it were a little more layed back... But they still look GREAT on the car.

Nitro, thanks for the info. I would definitely take you up on yer extra one, but I think it'd stick out like a turd in a punchbowl on my seafoam (ugh) paintjob. I'm running dual antennas (ae) on mine now. They are really laid back--I'm tryin to figure out what they came off of. I think maybe a '58 T-bird? If somebody knows, lemme know?

Yea, I thought those antennas would look good right about the same place you mentioned, near the sliding glass. But, that would require a little modification of the antenna itself. The other BIG idea I had was to put the sunliner Plexiglas roof and crown vic roof and side trim. Then do a pink pearl and black metal flake two tone paint scheme. It would have looked bitchen as a sunliner wagon!!

Wheel Vintiques sells those chrome rings for about $30 each.
