Everything that I have read says that '57 is the last year. That doesn't mean that I am correct I just have read that '57 was the last year.

Yes, Chevy made Cameo pickups in '58. The Fleetside bed replaced the Cameo in mid-'58, when they ran out of Cameo beds. The Fleetside pickups could compete with Ford's Styleside pickup at a lower price than the Cameo.

Seems like there were about 300 or so 58 Cameos that were built. Around 10,000 total from 1955 to 1958. 5000 of them were built in 1955. Cool looking trucks.

It happens to most of us "common folk"......just don't lose interest waiting to buy more stuff! There is always something to do....even if its the mundane stuff like cleaning and degreasing and sanding, etc. etc. Those things only take elbow grease and some cheap supplies! If you can just find little things to do it keeps your momentum and interest up in the project. I spend a lot of time walking between the two cars of my project measuring and building it to completion in my head...

When you're young money is always short ie." friends, party, maybe marriage, kids, divorce" but when you're older money is short for a bunch of different reasons that you don't have to deal with yet. So get to buildin'! Or else you'll sorry!

Do the no $ things. Cleaning, sanding, straightening dents and bends, making lists of needed components. Tag and bag all the hardware you will be saving. Measure out and make drawings of parts you need to make or replace. Remove and store trim items to prep for painting. No excuses like I make.

Keep moving forward like Treb11 suggests. You get what you focus on so focus on your truck.

    Hey

I've fallen in to the addictive pit, known as YouTube. There is a guy called Classic Truck Rescue, he deals mainly in these trucks, and he has a load of fun, has a lot of good info and most parts you could need.

Just a heads up and a bump for you thread. Any progress?

  29. You could try Candy Wineberry with those wheels. I think it would look good, but then again I'm kinda biased.
