I bought a pair of fiberglass doors and decklid a few years ago, and have always wanted to know the history of them. Looks like they were on a 55-57 that ran up in the New England area, anyone have any pics?
I would guess that it ran at New England Dragway in Epping, N.H., so I would start with people who know that track in the 70s. I say 70s, as the font doesn't look the style of the 60s. Also, try a search for speed shops or garages in Randolph. This thread may help too: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4145690
I sold those doors years ago. I was told the car was called the "White Rat". The guy I got them from was in Brockton. The car was from Marshfield when he got the parts. The story goes, the dude`s wife/GF was pissed at him for whatever reason and trashed the car. I think I remember it being for sale in the 90's in the Marshfield area. I was never able to dig up any more info on the car.
Your doors & deck-lid came from the 55 Sedan Gasser “The White Rat” there is more local Gasser info on Facebook Group “Gassers of Greater Boston Past & Present”.
