    The finished project:
37k mile original, one repaint, mostly original interior.
    No rust, accidents or undercoat.
Was 265/PG, bought off the HAMB from NOVANUT in 12/10.
.030" over 327, Fuelie heads, Vette dual quads, 2 1/2" ram horns, Richmond 5 speed o/d, Ford 9" w/ 3.73 posi, Traction Masters, Sun tach, Hurst shifter, 6" & 7" Magnesium Americans. Considering changing the shifter to the round, chromed ones used in the '60's Impalas. Nothing else, it's done!

Have another shifter in the works. Have to strip the chrome, reshape it a little, weld it to a base, and rechrome. I know they used Hurst's in the day, but this looks freaking massive to me. It also doesn't help that the Richmond sits about 2" higher than a Muncie.

  7. The only thing wrong with that car is that it is not in my garage.

That's a template for my 56 and how it should be built.

Thanks for posting. Fucking awesome car.

    What ^ said...

I like the orig. battery, hoses/clamps, single master and period tach.

Is the radio fader in a "correct spot?" Asking because mine has one like that, but under dash. I know mine was added later and trying to figure if I need to move.

That's the spot it was put in at the dealer, but I guess it could have gone anywhere.

You have nailed it! Now, if it was a 4 door and had steel wheels........a real sleeper. Butch/56sedandelivery.

Having a slight problem with the temperature. Runs 170* at speed, but quickly goes to 210* if I'm in traffic. Have a new Desert Cooler 4 row radiator, stock 4 blade fan, and a shroud. Changing to a 6 blade fan hoping that will be enough. I'm NOT going to an electric fan! Any other thoughts?

That is one great well done '55 210. Your choices for driveline and leaving the body alone was a perfect. Enjoy your Chevy!!!!

I put a new Desert Cooler 4 row in my Nomad when I replaced the 265 with a 350 and it does the same thing. I'm not at all impressed. Trying to decide what radiator to use. The old stock radiator cooled better than the Desert Cooler.

I have a Hurst Competition Plus for a bench seat with the Hurst white shift knob on my Nomad also (running a M-20), and I like 'em 'cause it reminds of when I was young and everyone with a 55-57 Chevy ran one!

The 6 blade will help an you could try one of these new additives like Royal Purple they'll knock off another 10 degrees.
    Nice chebby by the way..

If I owned that I wouldn't be worried about the shifter, only if i had enough money to keep the tank full. That's my idea of a great sleeper.
