The rusty item on the left is from my 1954 Mercury. Wanting to upgrade, I bought the shiny one on the right, which was advertised as being for a '54, but it's not. There are several small differences in the shape of the items, and the central mounting bolt bracket is in a different spot and at a different orientation. Anyone know the correct application for the shiny one?
Here's a front view. I don't think this will help much: it looks like the '54 from this angle. The difference are (1) the bullet's skirt extends further to the rear of the car on the '54, and has cutouts at the rear corners, whereas the other skirt is blunt cut and shorter (2) the center mounting bolt bracket is different and (3) the bottom portion of the dagmar is swept back at different angles.
