can someone please help me. What rear end differential is factory in a 1954 Lincoln Capri? It looks like a Dana 44 to me. It is in need of a service and seals. If anyone has info to share or knows where I can buy replacement parts for it please let me know.

    Thank you in advance.

Thanks Moriarity. I always forget about Rockuto. I'm still curios what the rear end is referred by? I've been debating puttin a more highway friendly gear in.

Some of them that looked like the Dana 44 are an earlier version called the Dana 41 which were used in 1952-54 Ford Ranch Wagons some Mercury wagons and Ford F-100's up till 1957.

usually if not gone missing there would be a tag on one of the bolts holding the pumpkin in.old rodding-racing way was to count the wheel to diveshaft revolutions.

Dana/Spicer axles usually are marked as to model. Look around on the differential housing webs for the model number cast in...”41” or “44”...whatever it might be
