Gotta ask where you and your friend found that beauty ? ! ? ! ?

Hopefully not in Massachusetts. I live in Kingston and would have to shoot myself if I missed something like that for sale locally . . .

GREAT SCORE ! ! ! Bring it to the cruise night at the Bass Pro Shop just as soon as you get some wheels under it. EVERYONE is gonna want to see it just as it is ! ! ! ! ! !

    Luck,

    TC

I was thinking on the lines of the body with a new legal chassis when I said it would look great in modified sports at Bonneville.

I'm like the others now and more interested in knowing the history of the car if it does have some history behind it.

It would be great at the HAMB drags with a stout small block in it.

Not that was NHRA/AHRA legal. There were some groups (like SCGA, I think) that had more liberal rules than the national associations. There was a group in the mid west that ran a "Gasser" association that allowed center steer, flip top bodies, and Nitro.

If it IS actually John Force's car, then he'll probably swap you a running and driving corvette for it. ;) :D

Looks like something Force would have driven "Back in the Day"...

This car come out of Maine? I remember as a kid in the 70's being told of a '55 Corvette drag car up here in Maine. I've put a call into my dad and he will call a few of his friends and see what we can come up with. Best wishes, David.

  27. There was an early Corvette drag car down in south Texas when I was a kid (early 70's)....it was metallic red....driven by Don Booth. But I seem to remember the proportions being more stock than this one.

I remember being at his shop with my dad right after they finished the paint on it.....and being told not to touch it because the paint wasn't dry yet.

Wouldn't it just be insane if this was Force's car! I'm definitely subscribed to this thread.

  28. Call me hypocritical, but I just cringe when I see a solid original Model A cut up.

A Corvette however, I could care less about being cut up.

Not to be a killjoy, but how do we know the chassis and body were ever together? Lippy

If its full of old dried up B.S. , no doubt it was Force's.
