Customs 1954 chevy 210 body repair

Hey guys, I recently pulled my 54 out of my in laws barn and am pumped up ready to get going on my projects this winter. Seems to be that replacement parts are pretty limited compared to more "popular" cars. On mine the bottom of the firewall body braces have some rust holes and rot and I was curious if there are any sources for replacement? I am sure I can manage making some repair pieces but for times sake I thought maybe I could buy some new. I plan to trim them in the future for a V8 so they should probably be beefed up and repaired. These cars are pretty well supported in the aftermarket, although as far as I know the pieces you are looking for aren't available new.

 

I wouldn't even mess with it until you put the V8 in. Some guys cut them clean off, you could replace them with some sort of L-shaped deal if you wanted.

 

When I put A v8 in my 54,I had to cut A lot of that area out .

I know of no one who pops that mount but it is pretty straight forward to just make it from scratch.
