1953 Mercury Monterey Mild Custom Hardtop. Kontinental's member Jeff Hammett is selling his '53 Mercury Monterey Mild Custom Hardtop. This car has been all over the country with the Kontinental's. It is a driver that has a lot of desireable features that include: shaved door handles, de-chromed, frenched headlights, custom tail lights, peaked hood, amazing pinstriped dash, and upgraded accessory steering wheel. All the under hood was done by Mercury Charlie including custom a-frame covers, custom radiator cover, and filled fire wall. The drive train includes a Vortec V-8 crate motor 350 with headers, finned valve cover and finned air cleaner, Turbo 350 tranny, and Ford 9" rear end. Body is black with red pearl metal flake and white hardtop with red pearl metal flake. Traditional steel wheels with wide whites, center bullet caps and bullet lug nuts. It is an older custom with some wear, but it is a driver that will get you where you are going no problem and you will look cool driving it. Will need some front end work to quiet the everything down to a perfect ride but priced to help cover that cost. Other than that, it is a cool mild custom priced to sell.
