Hi, I'm trying to get the windshield and trim out of my 53 so I can paint it and replace the windshield. I can't seem to figure out how to get the wiper spindles and cable drive out of the car. Does anyone know how these come apart. Any help appreciated. Thanks

it is that recessed round thing which is a threaded nut with two notches, in pic one.

There were special sockets made to do that. If it's not corroded solid, make one from a flat piece of steel as thick as the groove width. Make a slot in the middle of that steel thing, to clear the center shaft.

Nut comes off then shaft drops down into car under dash

  4. Make one from an older socket. Look at the tri five catalogues. The one made for the tri fives will work. .
