    This is off-topic, but I wonder if this old Ford is still in Georgetown? I took note of it becuase of the unusual front fender skirts and 4WD conversion.

  5. Yup! I believe it WAS the Red Ram that had the singing bartender. He had a leather apron. I think the serving staff were the chorus. If I remember correctly.

    I sure as heck will try to make the event, if it's held next year!

    Read the local newspaper article of the coverage from the 50's posted on first page, 8/15/13 post:

    "That hot rod hill climb was a feature of a two-day celebration climaxing the summer festival here. The Lakota Indians, a non-profit group devoted to preserving former Indian customs, also performed and the Georgetown Players presented the final performances of 'East Lynne' twice in at McClellan Hall."

    I'm guessing the tee pee belonged to the Lakota Indians group, setup for the summer festival.
     
  11. Nice find! Yes that's it. The Lakota were there performed. Pretty cool! Maybe next year we'll bring them back.
