Your old Poncho looks good... and cool to see you're having fun with it while you work on it.

If you don't have the piece of trim that's missing from your right front fender, I have one I'll let you have. Just pay for its ride there.

 

I still have the original one that came off of it I just can't seem to find the right molding clips that fit it.

 

I replaced the original fogs lamps because they had rusted through and replacement bulbs are almost none nonexistent. So I replaced them with Guide 2002-E lamps and they look really good. I am also thinking about replacing the tail lamp bulbs with LEDs from superleds.com. Here are the bulbs I am thinking about using.

Well I replaced the light bulb in the hood ornament with a 6v amber LED. And it's alot brighter and doesn't get as hot.

 

Right now I'm in the middle of repainting the grill emblem. I cleaned it with a green scotch bright pad. Then I am going to paint it with testors silver enamel and testors translucent red enamel paint.

Also, I have the original clips for that fender trim as well if you ever want them.

Thats what I did with the one on my 52... plan to do my 51 the same way.

 

now paint the back of the emblem with silver spray paint and it will make it brighter .

 

I have a plan to mount a #53 bulb behind it and wire it into the same circuit as the hood ornament.

 

I used some turtle wax rubbing compound on the trunk and doors today. I still have to do the roof and front clip before I can wax it. The paint looks pretty good to be over 60 years old.
