Technical 1951 mercury disk brakes

    i have a 1951 mercury with front disk brakes. drum rear. duel master cylindes & double 7 inch booster .the pedal is the orignal on the floor . the car stops good but a hate the way the pedal feels.. is there any one out there that has the disk brakes & has a good hard pedal .if yes please tell me what combo you have i have been told that is normal for the pedal i have & get use to it . the car stops good but i can,t lock the wheels. rear wheels are adjusted have proper valves system is blead. i am at the point of going back to drum brakes

    The word you want is 'disc'. They are disc brakes

    Manual brake ratios are normally in the 6-7:1 range, while power assisted are usually 3-4:1. If you're using the original un-modified pedal, you have too much pedal ratio for an assisted system.
