I just posted photos to a separate thread about the car's whereabouts, but really wanted to share with a new thread. I found this locally to me and it had been sitting in a warehouse for years, there were very few photos of it online so I have been trying to research it more. Thankfully it came with a ton of documentation and pics.

It was one of the two cars built for the Shirley Muldowney movie called Heart like a Wheel...it was radically modified / corrected / updated from the several week movie build version about 30+ years back and it still holds up pretty damn well. Bombed it at 70+ mph for the 70 miles home without a hitch...

I know it was back on the East Coast for the updated build, but I am not exactly sure who did the work, and for years in someone's collection in Florida.

Here are a couple of photos from yesterday when we got it home...any additional information anyone might have would be appreciated. D607F4DF-77A9-4E6A-99E2-D4159EFA495E.JPG IMG_0793.jpg IMG_0791.jpg IMG_0790 1.jpg IMG_0789 1.jpg IMG_0787.jpg IMG_0786.jpg

just a heads up.... This car is listed on several classic car for sale sites online, Main one being ACC, All Classic cars. com
it supposedly lives in Poulsbo, Washington, These EXACT photo's are what is being used for the sale posting, with a different sales pitch.
also as a byline to this, This person Bombs Away posted here on sept 4 2021 yet his information states he was last seen in 2018. do we have a hacker?

AND I can tell you after offering what the sale price was for the 51. but thru our credit union the seller stopped communicating with me.
basically when I asked to have a friend that lives close to him to come and inspect the car for me, all of a sudden the boat took a hard turn to Port...

not much I can do here, the Op was last here in sept. if anyone is dealing on this car just remember if it sounds too good to be true it is probably a scam......
