Thanks for the compliment. We're both naturally driven to complete projects quickly. Our truck gameplan works out well. Randy got the column mounted and steering done. Harness block and heater are mounted. He's going to start wiring and I will weld up the doors and bed box after I get the wiper assy and cowl vent assy installed.
Great job on your F1. I like that you stayed with a Ford motor. I have a very similar setup in my F1. I love how they drive. I take mine everywhere. Keep up the great work. You guys rock!
It's wired so Randy stayed late and fired the engine. Brakes are bled also. So far so good. Got the rear fenders and boards in paint today. Tomorrow's gonna be spent on the doors. Hoping to take it for exhaust next week depending on weather. View attachment 3808940
Wheels and tires are mounted. All welding and bodywork on the front end parts completed. Hopefully paint tomorrow.
Got some painting done so reassembly will go quickly in the next week. Gotta buy and router the boards for the bed and start on the interior. This is the fun part!
What are you using for a pedal/bracket set? Aftermarket? OEM? Home made? I am doing a 49 and would like to go to hanging pedals. 3 pedals is my hope. Truck looks great. Nice job! J
I’m not a Ford guy but the F1’s are one of my favorites. I prefer the simplicity of the ‘48-‘50 grills, but like the later ones too. Have you said what color it will be? As you can see from my avatar my ‘55 Chevy was sage green but that was Rustoleum satin rattle can stuff. I debated doing final paint in something similar but ended up going with as dark a red as I could find that wasn’t burgundy and wasn’t custom. Can’t wait to see how thi one comes out and to watch the finish of the ‘48 Chevy too!
F1’s are my favorite Ford truck. Yours is looking great. Keep up the posts, Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Color is a Fiat code. Customer picked it. The bumpers and grille will be satin creme to match the wheels. Pedal assembly is a modified aftermarket part. If you need three pedals consider using a Mustang fox body pedal assembly. We did a '52 using a T5 that is my personal truck. Used the clutch cable also. Firewall requires reinforcement for the cable pull. Here's a couple of pics showing the '52 pedals. They were lengthened 2".
Doors are on and nose is going together. Now if only the interior guy could be on time with the seat... Looks like interior and wiring work is on for this weekend. We were hoping for exhaust but it's supposed to rain for three days.
Looks like it will have that perfect stance, not too low but can still haul like a truck. What rear end and gears do you mostly use?
nice,...hope the front settles a couple inches after it's off the stands...it'd be perfect, nice job, truck should run/drive like a new truck.
The jackstands are under the frame. It'll go down quite a bit when we set it on the ground. Should be 1" higher than the '52 that went to Texas.
Sitting on the ground and we will have to raise it an inch front and rear. The customer doesn't want it too low. Damn!
