1948 to '50 may also work, these dashes are spot welded in, must be cut up the A pillar and across the dash to cowl seam to be removed... this leaves a flat [vertical] surface against the A pillar, then it swoops out to the dash's depth, at that point you can blend about any late '30's dash to fit in a '30-'31 closed car cowl... sunday morning brunch special ; cut off wheel, grinder, mig, flapper sander... willing '52 truck dash, I removed the speedometer cluster, but these dashes let the speedo / cluster interchange... so I can run the speedometer in the remaining hole... because finding matching gauges is so tough I decided that using speedo only modd was better that the ashtray delete route... gives me 15 different FORD speedometers not counting stock... bottom of the dash is flat so a 3 or 4 gauge strip should look ok... I think they repop the glovebox, door, trim, stainless dogleg, ashtray trim, speaker grill and radio delete.. . when I cut the left section off I took it over to my template '30 cowl and I laid it against the A pillar and it covered the A dash bar... took about a half hour... here goes... note the flat surface sits against the A pillar... needs the edges trimmed to match the interior's tapered edge ... View attachment 3840911 fits the A cowl shape better than the '38-'39s I have been messing with...
1951-'52 truck dash with the right side speedometer / gauge cluster removed... bolts in a '30-'31 closed car cowl... $1.68 a can black n' grey, finger tight nuts and screws... got a repop radio delete in transit... don't have a speedo but have a gauge cluster without glass for perspective... . so cal. speed had a chrome underdash 3 gauge mount for $9.99, free shipping... now in transit... look under one of these dashes, there are 13 drilled and tapped holes under the radio block off and they are factory... easy to mount any gauge combo you want... my only complaint is that these dashes are tall... about 2" taller than a '40...
Wednesday's child; don't have any decent speedo/cluster units... this one doesn't have glass... but shows that you could use the cluster and a dashtop tach as a speedometer...
That looks great SJ. And I like the coupe behind it too!! The hole for the gauge is probably a 5 incher. You should be able to find one of those easily I bet it would take a little metal work to graft that to the dash rail...but not a lot.
