1950 Chevrolet 3100 Body Work – Hood stripped & Louvered by Paul Harper, Roslyn, Wa. Otherwise, Body has been buffed from its original condition. The tailgate and the grill are the only replaced pieces on the truck…everything else is original. I purchased the truck primarily because of the great condition of the sheet metal. The truck spent most of its life as a farm truck in Eastern Washington (Sunnyside,Wa.) I have owned the truck for the last 20 years and it has been garaged during that time. Lower cab corners have some very small pinhole rust spots that you’d have to get down on the ground to see and that’s it for rust on the truck. Holes from the removal of the farm truck mirrors have not been filled. Truck was painted one time way back (maybe 60’s) Currently a light blue lacquer paint….was originally dark blue. The paint buffs out to a high sheen. About the motor – The original 216 splash-oiler was removed and replaced by a 1959 235 full oil pressured block. The block was hot tanked & completely rebuilt in Yakima, Washington by Richard at Joe's Grinding Machine Shop. Egge pistons and rods were used. It has an E-2 Howards cam (High Lift Cam), stainless valves, and cleaned up the exhaust and intake ports. Howards dual valve springs were used. The motor was balanced. A lot of time and research were used to make sure the best parts were used for both reliability and performance. It starts with ease and runs flawlessly. The motor was awarded “Best Motor” at the first show I took it to. Wiring – EZ Wiring (Professionally wired by Get Wired, Wenatchee, Wa) Wiring diagram provided to hang on your shop wall.
