  1. A lot of work Sir but you will reap the rewards when you get it all shiny.

I see that you used a lot elbow grease on it but you are almost 1/2 way there.

  3. You've staid after it. I give you lots of credit in the "let's get it done" world. I hope your arms aren't hurting too much. :)

One of the best builds I’ve seen.

I knew when I started the body/mud work I’d have to stay at it and get it done. My shop has been a complete mess for about 5 weeks doing it and I’m ready to get it cleaned up and touch something without getting dusty. Lol. Thanks for the encouragement guys. It’s all fun.

Cleaned up, prepped and read to squirt some primer in the morning.

  9. Are you planning to spray it with a high build primer and sand it again? That will give it a show paint but is alot of work. Looks great!

Thank you. Yes. I’ll put on 3 coats of polyester high build. Then block it all out by hand with 180 grit. Then another 2 coats of urethane primer that will eventually get blocked with a final grit for paint. Hey...what else have I got to do...lol. I’ll be doing a bunch of mechanical work on it for a change of pace while the polyester cures good for a couple weeks or more. Got to keep life fun.

180 grit is what we use to sand cars with for enamel paint jobs, anything finer and it would peal off in sheets. Get out the Hot Plate

She’s primer grey! Three nice wet coats of polyester. Now I’ll work on mechanical while it cures good for a few weeks. Lots of mechanical to do and it’ll be a nice change of pace.

I like the DTM may have to try some. What is the cost compared to PPG?

$120 a gallon kit (makes 5 qts sprayabble) delivered to my door from a place in MO on eBay. Got it in 3 days on Speedy.

Was it SMG sales? I use to use them all the time until I worked in a shop that furnished the materials. Frank

  29. Haha! I had to zoom in to see the headlight masking. I knew it looked a little strange looking at it on my phone. But, now I see why. :D
