there's no such thing as a 'going' price....old car parts sell for the difference between how much you'd LIKE to get and how much your best buyer is willing to pay. Pick up a Hemmings Motor News at your local bookstore. There is NO greater source of brand-specific car parts. They also have cars for sale (by private owners, not Hemmings, they're merely a publisher). I've been subscribing since the late 60s, and it's always a treat to read the ads for parts and cars.
As stated no such thing as a 'going' price. All depends on if you are buying or selling. If you are selling it's worth less than you think it is. If you are buying it's worth more than you thought it was
why sell trade not everything should have a price. building cars should not be about money and profit my .02
If the stainless or chrome on the wheel is really nice and the horn ring doesn't need replating and the -plastic is solid with no cracks, chips or damage that 1949 steering wheel is worth whatever you are willing to pay. To rechrome a 49-51 merc horn ring will run you about $150 -$250. Here's on a friend of mine has for sale on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1949...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2564255426
