I agree the dagmars should stay. But as is they seem to pronounced . I would section them down to maybe 3/4 size . Just a suggestion, This build is simply fantastic!!!!! Larry

The hood looks great, I always thought that doing that would not look right or that it would take to much of a dive down in the front. You have proved me wrong. Great job!

Totally amazing metal work! I am impressed. When it is all done most people (not car guys ) will never know how much work went into such a beautiful car. You will get many smiles per gallon of gas.

I have a '48 Cad Sedanet that I'm building and absolutely love the Dagmars on your car...it's what I'm planning for mine...however, I'm not chopping mine or doing a lot of bodywork to it so there's nothing like using Cadillac parts on a Caddy...keep the Dagmars in place until you finish the grille opening...I think it'll look fine when you're done...

I am not usually in favor of breast reduction surgery, but in this case I have to agree – keeping the Dagmars but reducing their size might integrate them better into the overall design.
But the car is going to be gorgeous either way, and like everyone else I am amazed at the skill and craftsmanship that is going into it.

Well, thanks to all because yours posts help me to do every day this work. I think that this project found a good appreciation for two importants motivations:
    First craftsmanship.
Second, the work of study and design that every day mr. scacco from Sardinia Island and i, do to find the best solutions for the project.
I'm onored to post my works in H.A.M.B. the best in the custom world.
    Thanks, Mirko from Italy

downloadfile-10.jpeg I just found this pic to illustrate my point. Now this is pure class. Understated. I'm arguing like italians argue over blondes or brunettes. . . not a critisism just an observation .I love the sectioned hood. Very smooth. I keep stumbling on the dagmars for two reasons. a. its already been done on the black car
    b. It is a big leap from a 49 to 55. The shape looks so beautifully italian that it is hard to date the styling . . . until you get to those clunky bulls horns.

  24. I don't mind the Dagmars as they are, but if you're looking for opinions I think they stick out a bit far and the depth of the bumper seems a bit beefy. Pull them back a bit by trimming an inch off the trailing edge and they would flow with the proportions of the rest of the car.

Gotta say, I love checking on this thread. Amazing work.

It is your car and will look fantastic no matter what, but I am with Roger , I think the bird breaks the flow. But I am not much of a trim kind of guy ! As always fantastic work !!!!! Larry
