I really like this one. It's mild and simple for a Merc but it's just enough. Swap out the Moon disk for a '50 Olds cap or something maybe, but this one really strikes me.
WAS GONNA say: q85 in all my travels I have only seen one other Lincoln like this , that was on Long Island back in '89/'90. It however was chopped in the Merc style, and Candywine beery. Thanks for the post here, they make quite a splash when out and about.
Sancho pointed out that it is a Lincoln. As a 23 year Linc / Merc partsman they go hand in hand to me, but I deleted it.
I like the old store parking lot shows. Someone should do that now.... It would have to be the right store though, at least in appearance.
I hear you. That's not what I meant.... A traditional car show in the lot of an actual period building is what I was thinking about. And since I have totally derailed this thread, here are some random Merc's...
The only Merc/Deuce Reunion I ever made was Wichita in '84. Dad took me, I was 14. That is where a lot of those were taken (at the later Reunion), I pulled them from carnut.com
The rear window treatment is very similar to mine. I think this one is maybe late 40's Mopar ?? , Mine is a 41 Chevy and my roof line fades back almost to my deck lid. I always loved the small back window look, it gives it an almost Carson top kind of vibe, or as I like to call it a Bad Boy look { gives the back seat area a kozy ,private kind of feel } Of course at my age getting in the back seat of that thing is hardly worth the effort! lol Lots of beautiful cars on here. It is from a 47 chevy car. We found one in a junk yard and took half the top with us, just to make sure we didn't leave anything behind. Eventually we just had a piece that fell into the original merc window opening.
I like the "Bad Boy" look too. You don't see it done much these days with maybe the exception of the east coast. This Merc (from the west) has always been one of my many favorites. E
