1948 pontiac rear brake adjusting

    hi i was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on adjusting my back drum brakes on my 1948 silverstreak thanks eric

    Standard Bendix style . Stick a brake adjust tool in the slot on the bottom of the backing plate. Move the end in your hand in a downward motion till the wheel won't turn. Going the other way with the tool back off till the wheel turns free ,about 10 of the notches on the adjuster wheel.Again buy a "Motor's" manual off ebay that cover your car you won't regret it. A manual up to 52 would be OK.
