Anyone know where I can look up a serial# for a 1948 GMC? There is plenty for the Chevy's, but whenever I find something for GMC's its no longer there!
    Thank you for any help.

bc67, try oldgmctrucks.com if it's GMC they know it
My VIN is FC 253 3048. I think, FC = type of cab. next 3 = weight rating. next 4 = sequential numbering.

FC 353 decifers to this, "FC"= '47-'50 year model (conventional cab), "35"= 350 series 2 ton, "3" = 161in. wheelbase. "2871" is the production number. Check out www.oldgmctrucks.com for more tech. info, & a great discussion board.
