hey all...finally figured out my projects front end came off a 48-? pilothouse dodge truck//// i want to rebuild the brakes...and wanted to see if any later model parts would interchange with the spindles/ backing plates?

i had read that someone had put 70's brakes on the spindles, and had to adjust for larger shoes and drum?

any information is greatly appreciated.... i also found rusty hope for if i can ever afford the disk conversion...but i may just start saving now!

    thanks

  3. I put a rusty hope kit on my truck and it is pretty painless. The only thing you need to do is tap the bottom holes on the spindles. I also needed a shim for the inside bearing but I'm not sure if that was just me or if everyone needs to do it.

My dad just rebuild the stock drum brakes on his '40 dodge and to be honest the price for the rebuild was pretty close to the price for the discs.

At any rate, I say go for the discs!:D
