This is a fairly old pic of the interior of my '51. The center console is gone (3spd + OD was replaced with a 5 spd) and the radio is in the glove box. Stock seat, just re-sprung and reupholstered. Ididit Tilt column. Nothing fancy, just comfortable.

  7. I used the seat riser out of a late 80's early 90's chevy truck and narrowed it to fit a Ranger bench seat in my 50 . It is in storage I will try and get pictures for you. It sat at the right height for me and was comfortable. The narrow seat back allows a little more room between you and the steering wheel which is more important now than it was 20 years and 30 pounds ago. My 49 has stock bench.

  10. I'm 5'-10" and 200lbs.
With the stock seat and stock steering wheel there was almost belly rub. If I used a smaller wheel, I could have used the stock seat but then more 'strong arm' is needed to turn. The Ranger seat moved back about 3 more inches than stock as the back is much thinner.

  11. I used a 75 Chevy truck tilt column with a column drop out of a seventys Dodge van. Pedal assembly out of 82 Chevy half ton worked well just about bolt in.

just measured the bel-air wheel its 18in also

  15. I narrowed the bench seat from the 75 GM chassis donor truck used for my 49 COE. I narrowed the seat 6.5 inches and built some new mount pieces. Recovered and it works great. I like the tilt forward back so I can out a few smaller things behind the seat, since i do not have the stock in-cab tank. Pic from under construction without any covering on the engine cover.

Steering is a 71 Chevy truck tilt column, used a small journal SBC rod for the column drop. I have the donor brake pedal swing assy used also.
