man i would just drive that truck as is, just stick some headlights in it, and get it roadworthy, just use it in the summers as a junkyard run truck!
Well, it’s one of only 267, it’s falling apart, so I will likely spend way too much time saving it so full custom treatment is slated for it.
ah, well, i wish you luck on it, i hope to get a mid 30s pickup truck set up like that one day, no windscreen or even ragtop., a three speed on the floor and a flathead 6, though, i might tune it up hot so it can at least go 60 without much issue.
You are a HOARDER, Bud ! LOL. Why do we collect those F1 front shock brackets ? 'Cause they're KOOL Appears you have been collecting for "months".
Who am I to not buy all of the cast off parts from the mustang II swaps. I may have gone through more than a few F1 parts pikes people were throwing away.
Slowly taking shape. The krusty kustom, Krustom if you will is progressing. Never mind my mess. The maid was off this week.
...Well I'd say your garage is officially broken in...Your doing an awesome job on the Forpar @justabeater37...truly inspiring to witness...
This seems about the best I can come up with roof profile, rear window position wise. Close enough. Now to get this thing knocked out so I can get to cutting the front and rear vent windows, mounting bumpers, lowering it, getting the rest of the Krusty sheet metal hung one way or another and then get it running again. Whew. Makes me tired thinking about it all.
It’s the only curved glass on one of these. Just being lazy and not wanting to cut it. Goal is to have this in primer in January and if all goes right Detroit in March. Long road ahead for either goal.
One of the hardest cars to chop and have look right when you get done there is. That said, I think that one is going to look right from what I see.
I first saw your stock plymouth grille and went eeeoww , nope. Then saw your intended modified version and gave it ten thumbs up. It looks like it belongs there. I love the way you retained the flowing shape of the original rear 1/4 window. Well executed.so when folks first see the car they will say “very cool” and maybe not realise what’s been done to make it so cool. That is the essence of a cool custom.
If I lay the rear window down so the height looks good with the side windows I feel it gets too heavy behind the gutter. With the top profile where I like it, I feel the rear window is too high aesthetically. What to do??? Over analyze it for awhile, cut, weld, and then wish I would have done the opposite
There's two models of Coupe in these 46-48 models I recall and this may be highlighting the difficulty depending on model... I'm thinking the bottom one but without the lid it makes it tricky to choose...if the bottom does that mean a lid section is required?
I, for one, have never cared for the "laid way down" look of the rear of the coupe greenhouse. I can't put a finger on why, it's just my opinion.
With great difficulty I choose the top look over the bottom...I'm thinking it has a longer flowing stretched look over the bottom that has a more sporty look and may even make it look less chopped... I commend your work either way as they are really nuts on and are both very arguably good options... What would Gene say? Gall dang what a tough decision...
Good thing I have a few tools. If I lower the window, remake a portion of the roof, and build a new catwalk, I think I can get the rear window where it doesn’t sit 2” above the side windows yet doesn’t look laid down flat like a chopped 49/50 Merc. We shall cal this plan K As in Krusty Kustom
Plan K looks good...is that at about the ride height and stance your aiming for? That can also help in deciding...
Maybe the gutter line is skewing your view ?? I think for what it is .. either looks good to me. What is "perfection" ? Maybe moving gutter profiles on whatever you choose .. ties in the overall ? Either way .. these kind of threads are the sh*t of why I'm here. Thank you for sharing.
Stance is close, pic is cropped to mimic ride height in the minds eye. Dropping it roughly 5 1/2” up front, close to 8” out back. That is why the front is on skates and the rear isn’t.
