Projects 1946 MERCURY HUBCAP ON EARLY HOT ROD

Can someone post some photos of a 32 Ford or Model A hot rod with 1946 Mercury Hubcaps, or 47-48 mercury hubcap, preferably 1946. I did a search on the forum and on google and couldn't find any photos, but think these caps might look good on a hot rod. Thanks

 

Not mine, owned by lothiandon1940 here on the HAMB. I thought about using them too.

 

not sure....never asked the uncle about the cap's....they looked good to me....about 1955 in front on my pop's shop....

 

I like 'em, but it's a personal thing.

 

memory says the '46 merc hubcaps are deeper than most... they clear the model A rear hubs/axles...

..................They do have a deeper dome than say '46 Ford caps.

 

These two similar views show better the dome difference..

How can folks not like a deeper dome?

 

I had a set on my roadster i liked the way they looked.

 

Best looking caps for a hotrod steel wheel IMHO! 46 or 48- can't go wrong either way!

 

........Even though the overall diameter is larger the mounting rings are the same 8 and 1/8 inches.

Here,s mine , 48 merc caps , from donor in back round , black merc inscript takan off , a bit dented up fits the car.

 

If I remember correctly you must use a Mercury wheel to be able to use a Mercury hub cap.
