I like what you are doing. I had a 47 with a Buick in it and even thought it was tight, I didn't have to move anything. Is this swap going to be easier or more difficult. Is the steering box going to be a problem? What are you doing with the exhaust? What are you going to do about positioning the battery. There were other problems for me, but it is too many years ago. It will be fun to follow. Bob
Battery has already been relocated. If my measurements are correct it all should fit very tightly. Might have to clearance the firewall for distributor. Sent from my E6810 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Hi. Nice work there. I have a question for you on your 4 gauge instrument panel. Did you make it or where did you purchase it? I have seen similar on Speedway & Chevs of the 40's but they are very blah looking. Guess I could get one of the blah looking ones and have it faced. Also my original panel looks like it is stainless that has been painted over. Thinking about pulling the stock panel and taking off the paint and see if the gauge slots are short enough where I can knock out the round holes in it. At least that way everything on the dash would match all the way across. I am in the thinking about it stage right now as I am waiting on the insurance adjuster to come by as I got rear ended last Thursday. I have no clue whether they are going to come up with repair money or total it. I am even tinkering with the idea of making it into one of the Double Duty Coupes of the day and instead on new trunk lid slid in a small step side bed in the style of the 30's - 40's. I think I can do that change for no more money that replacing all the bad sheet metal on the rear. Jimmie
The panel was one of the ones from eBay, basically same as speedway, I took a stab at engine turning it came out ok. Sorry to hear about your car saw the post. That's the one thing I worry most about is other drivers not paying attention. Sent from my E6810 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Hemi sat in place in it's mounts. Steering column mocked in place and 61 olds steering wheel. Sent from my E6810 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

I painted my steering wheel white once.........Looks good fresh, not so good after 2800 miles. I would recommend switching the colors around. Otherwise rock on.
