This one suffered some damage in the Joplin Tornado. Fortunatly the Garage door/wall fell on the trunk and kind of protected the rest of the car. Some dents in the trunk lid, rip in the top and dent on front fender where the garage door opener fell on it I believe was the extent of damage according to 47Plym.

This one of the few I've seen that I like with the stainless still on the car. Generally I like the front fender and side trim removed.

The chop looks really good. Don't see many or any sedans 46-48 ply chopped. The fenders are out there but I would like to see it in paint. Cool in its own way. Keep it up Spanish Fly!

  8. Two months later the fist round of body work is over and the pimer has just been shot. Transmission swap, New drive shaft, new floor, new rockers, filled in trim holes, moved the gas filler neck in to the trunk, lowered it a little, more to come. Business just picked up so I will try to get tags soon and drive primed out for a while.

I've had my '48 since September 17, 1977. It's running a '53 Plymouth flathead and overdrive. The decklid is shaved and the rear top bow lowered. The 50 year old red paint is now cracked and faded orange. The original color was Cruiser Maroon. It has factory dual heaters. In 1980, I drove this thing all over the country on vacation. From Minnesota to Arizona, then up the west coast. What a blast that was!
Unfortunately, it has been on the back burner for a long time. Over the last 34 years, I have collected pretty much all the NOS parts needed to restore it, plus an edmonds head, offy intake and fenton headers. I plan to do a frame off, but keep the cool vintage modifications. Now I just need to make some time to get busy on it.

    http://www40.addr.com/~merc583/mopar/framesets/welcomeframeset.html

and have a gander at the forum, and the galleries etc. Lotsa nice looking Plymouths Dodges Chryslers and Desotos mostly 46-48 but quite a few earlier and later to.

The P-15 has always been one of my favorites. I bought this one as a 50K mile original. Beautiful original paint and interior. Hopped up the flathead with Dodge crank, milled head, Holly 2bbl, and Fenton headers. Added a/c and overdrive with suspension modifications. A really nice car that I sold back to the original owners grandson. I wrote an extended article about this one on my book, Dreams & Memories, as it was the sweet old car we all hope to find.

Here is my 48 2 door sedan. She`s been in storage for a good long while, but I may get some fall cruising out of her yet.
