Try doing a search for a 1942-1945 ANYTHING. Chances are you will come up nearly empty handed unless it is painted olive green.

They did made 42 fords for a short run. You dont see many though.

  4. There were some cars built in 1942 by just about every car company. Though, production was very short (only a couple months) I've seen several '42 Chevys, Fords, Plymouths, Chryslers, Desotos, Studebakers, Pontiacs, Buicks, and even my personal favorite-1942 Hudsons! I'm roddin a 42 Hudson Commodore Eight (straight 8) coupe and a 42 Hudson sedan.

the reason i'm looking for pics is i found one near me i'm thinking gasser

are these rarer than i thought?
when did the war run tooling start. or when did they stop making civilian cars?

1942 Ford car only production...160432. Chevrolet 1942 production 254895.. I cannot tell which coupe you have so stylemaster cpe 2 pass 8089....cp 5 pass 17442.... fleetmaster 2p cpe 1716.. cpe 5 pass 22187 and the aero sedan 2 dr 61855.. I left the sedans and 4 drs.. They had about 4 plus month production before turning to the war effort.. So their are a lot more 42 than you think.. Most of them got used up because no new cars avaiable during ww2 and after the end if was very hard to get a car and everybody need and wanted new anything.. My source was encylopedia of american cars... Bobby

    uh thanks bobby
thats cool i'm new to this so things like that are great.

  9. Well, not sure if this will be good news or not for you but that is a 1941 Chevrolet coupe, not a '42. The good news is that is a highly sought after car and you'd be doing yourself proud to drive it any style.
