    Hi all,

I have a titled 1942 chevy pickup. I would like as much help as possible decoding the VIN, but have been having a hard time over the last few weeks. I am pretty certain that the VIN number came off of the engine or transmission as I cannot find it on the body currently. Can anyone tell me how to decode these old 9 digit VIN's?

    thank you!

ID plate should be on the right cowl side under the hood held on by 2 rivets.

yes. I felt I explained my vehicle well enough and was respectful. what concerns do you have about my introduction? i'm relatively easy to get along with. your attitude seems to suggest otherwise.

Don't sweat the small stuff. A simple introduction is fine, most don't even do that. As far as your question goes, a lot more people will see it on the main board. If you put a general area as to where you are from on your profile it could help you down the road if you need a hand or want to sell something with out shipping hassles. Just a suggestion.

Thank you, I'll repost this there. I need to get that added to my profile but will have to do it on my PC, the mobile app doesn't seem to have a field for that.

    Thanks!
