I have one too. The cost of re-chroming grill, hood vents, all other pot metal, bumpers was staggering. So customizing was the way I went. Handmade grill and side vents. Decided to chop it. Lower it. Runs complete '76 Cad drive train. Custom interior. Nice car. Still looks big without bumpers. Good luck with it. Hope your chrome is better than mine. Problem loading a pic of it. Hopefully later.

trunk emblem is not a 1947 piece, 1947 has flying wings with the cad emblem in the middle. I believe it is one year only, took awhile for me to find one for my 47. Agreed on the price of chroming being unreal, mine is going to be a patina rod until I can find better used chrome pieces. Nothing worse than fresh paint with bad chrome.

  6. Very nice. All '41 GM Coupes are Art Deco on wheels.

Thanks guys !!! A friend just offered to sell me a car I've been trying to get for 10 years or more that he said he would never sell , so I am putting this Caddie up for sale . I got it running strong , rebuilt the trans , did the brakes , all kinds of stuff . We'll see what happens !

    Very nice!

Pops had a 1949 fas'back (that what he and his friends called it) and I loved it.

If it were mine, I'd run it without skirts.

    Good luck and have fun!

thanks! i have the skirts for it, i just wont be able to run the reverse offset wheels on the car like i am now if i put the skits on.

i might end up mounting some all chrome wheels with standards on the back and reverse on the front if i ever end up putting the factory skirts on :D
