Finally got to the end of this thread. I have a feeling of acomplishment and regret. LOL. What a history lesson! Thanks to everyone who contributed, keep it coming. My favorite thread here.

Shot a little video of some friends and our Hot Rods at the 2012 Hollywood Throttlers Hot Rod Picnic. Got some pretty good stuff that I think will be fun to watch.

Thanks for posting that video! Really liked seeing the cars and the interviews you did with the owners! Lord, I wish there was a collection of 40s style rides like that around Dallas to run around with!

Thanks for the nice video! :)

Here's a shot from my small hometown Uddevalla on the Swedish westcoast from last year. There are a couple of roadsters missing, including my own. Cars are all from nearby.

It's my friend Jonas Spitfire engined roadster. The engine is a '53 De Soto flathead six, bored to 260" and equipped with a milled "Spitfire" head and a triple carb setup. So really not a period correct 1940's hot rod. :D

Were pretty lucky out here, seems pretty easy to get a group of four or five together to drive their hot rods around aimlessly. You could always consider moving to SoCal

  15. I love A's that stray from using the normal run of the mill powerplants that you usually see..Thanks for posting!

  20. I am shooting for a early 50's look for my 34, but really there is nothing on the car newer then the late 40's...so should'a, would'a, could'a??

    Wow! Nice!

For a while now I’ve been dreaming about doing that with a ‘41-‘51 Ford six.

This is a great thread as it seems that the site has drifted away from hot rods ! Nice to see this Thanks!

  25. Umm...do you just randomly post to threads without paying any attention to what you're doing? What do ANY of those have to do with "1940's period correct hot rods"?
