I think 46 to 48 Mercurys had 15 x 4 1/2 wheels with the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern. I've got a couple of reversed ones out in the shed but its dark and cold out so I'm not going to check now. Someone much smarter than me will chime in soon.

Late 50's Ford pickups had a 15 by I think 5" wheel. They take the same hubcap as any 40-48 passenger wheel. There are millions of them out there. Is that narrow enough?

I made some by using 1940s Ford centers cut down on a disc brake lathe, then pressed into pre-1967 VW Bug outer rim hoops, then welded.

The pic below shows the stock 16" on the left, and the one on the right with silver-gray hoop is the VW one. The VW is 4", and pre-1967 VW hoops don't have the modern looking bead locks, the hoop edges look like the same profile as 40s Fords.

  5. Wheel Smith can make you a brand new 15 x 5, other than that I believe the 46 to 48 Merc wheels are the only narrower option at 15 X4.5
