It's been a while since I posted on my build , but I have been busy, busy! Got all the mechanical buttoned up and made the drive to the GNRS without a hitch. 240 miles round trip without any problems. I got all my glass cut and installed, built a shifter surround and today started on my sound deadener/ heat shield. So far so good, lots of work. Enjoy a pic or two.
Been getting busy with the DA and killing rust. She's down to pretty much bare metal, and she's solid.
Bodyworking and making a package tray right now. I also just got my skirts in the mail from Tommy Moore here on the hamb. Hand crafted, and they fit real nice. (Test fit for now) I also dropped my chrome off yesterday (Bumper, headlight bezels, hood release handles) Looking to have this pig smooth and ready to paint within the next few weeks. All the little things are starting to add up!!
The skirts look great! Can't wait to see your car in a few weeks, going to be awesome. Keep at it Rich!
Thanks guys! We have quite a few great looking 40-41 Plymouths here these days. Thanks for the inspiration, and yes Eric, we will see each other in Del Mar at the end of the month. My car may be chromeless and in various stages of bodywork, but it will be there- hahaha!
Looks killer..love the skirts..i would love a set for my 41..great job..can't wait to see it painted..
I don't know how I missed this car here on the HAMB or at the Grand Nationals, but you are killing it! That sucker looks fan-tastic! You've gotta be driving the prices up on these Mopars! I love the skirts! - Clark
Yes, keeping it Mopar!! Thanks alot, The chop looks perfect to me, and Im a picky bastard! Skirts were fabbed by Tommy Moore, he makes some nice shit and hes a hamber too! Thank you, they are quality, Get at Tommy Moore, Im sure he would love to make you a set! Thanks Clark, we will be in paint and indoors next year!!
Really love the 40 coupes, definately one of my all time favorites. It looks really good for a barn find, congrats!
man thanks for all the props on the skirts , I think they look bad ass on your coupe bro, I like knowing alittle of my metal work is being seen in Cali ! thanks again for the bizz !
Man this thing is looking great, and it seems like an easier job then mine. Maybe it seems easy because its not mine and I'm just a spectator. You are light years ahead of me, but thats probably because you know what you're doing. Good luck with the rest of the build, I can't wait to see it on the road.
Well, got her roughed out and in some sealer/primer. A milestone for sure. Now that she is all one color, I can focus on the fine tuning and block sanding. Block, prime repeat.... Here we go.
