Customs 1940 Nash sedan custom...why aren't there more of these out there?

I was at my friend's shop today and saw a 1940 Nash 2-door sedan that he recently bought. It has the same basic shape as any '40 sedan, but it had some really neat unique features like peaked fenders, a cool peak running down the middle of the split rear window onto the trunk, nice peaked line to the hood, etc. Even the profile of the roof looked pretty cool as-is. It looked like a prime candidate for an early 50's style custom, but after a quick search I couldn't find too many already out there. Anyone ever seen one done this style?
Here are some pics of the car. I've also included an old pic of Brewsir's old Merc...something like this done with the Nash could be pretty bitchin.

My guess is you don't see many because they didn't make as many compared to Ford or Chevy.

I'm big fan of 39-41 nash cars. Cool lines and good fuel economy. The Nash 600 series was called so because you could travel 600 miles on a tank of gas...20 gallon tank 30 mpg

I'd love to...but my plate's full. I was at his place so I could use his lift to work on my OWN early 50's-style custom :)

Would make very nice Customs for sure.

Here is a nice Coach built convertible...

This factory photo shows one of the 12 Count Alexis de Sakhonoffsky-designed
1940 Nash Ambassador victorias (six were sold and the remaining six were
converted back to Ambassador convertible coupes).

And the car - or at least one of the six - is still around today

Should have known to look at your site first, Rik! Very cool car. I like how they nixed the running boards but left the fenders untouched (including the ribs at the back of the front fenders). That rear shot really shows that peak I was talking about running down the roof. Neat cars!

Model No. is the same as the Ambassador Cabrolet, but they were known as the "Play Car". Odd name, but it was an odd company, too.

    Rare and beautiful.
