If you put a 302 into a 1940 Ford, can you still use the stock steering box will there be any clearance issues in regards to the header pipe and or motor mount ? CR.
I have a302 in my 40 coupe and stock steering box clears fine. I made my own mounts, stock exh clears.
Here's a picture of my 41 Truck (Same Chassis steering box etc). I have removed the stock steering setup, but you can see the clearance the stock box would have. should clear fine:
