When you installed the axle, did you also do something to drop the rear?

I flattened the rear crossmember. Gave me 4 “ drop in rear.

Great looking chop. Are you going to post how you deal with the drip rail?

The drip rail will fade out like a Zephyr.

That's the way I would do it. I think they need the drip rail because it adds to the appearance of the car . I personally don't like them removed, makes me think they took the easy way out. I love your car wish it was in my garage next to my 40 Sedan Delivery.

I agree with 1- shot the drip rail has to continue to the end of the seam to complete the look. The car has to look untouched or the chop doesn't look right, the same with coupes. Just my opinion.

Really nice looking '40. The chop is perfect. So, too, is the car's color.

I'd be wanting the drip rail reinstalled just like the initial photoshop illustration. The car needs that line completed (and so does the Zephyr). It looks incomplete without it, as if the chopper took the easy way out. I've seen lots of '49- '51 Mercs and '40 coupes chopped and smoothed but they never look right to me. IMHO.

  12. It is an amazing line. I know someone with a gutterless chop and it's a pain if you get caught in the rain. No joke.
Faded Love, the chop looks righteous. One swoopy kemp.
